Before beginning with the main part of the article let’s see what UPSC is all about. UPSC and CSE

UPSC stands for Union public service commission. This organization of the government holds civil services exams (CSE) every year.

As we all know it is one of the toughest exams held in India and to clear IAS exam tons of hard work, determination, and precise knowledge are needed.

The exam is held in 3 rounds that are:

● Preliminary exam

● Main exam

● Interview

Preliminary and Mains can be cracked somehow but it’s difficult to pass the interview rounds. Many people cleared their preliminaries and mains paper but could not get through the interview round.

UPSC Preparation Tips.

1. Time Table

The first thing you should go after while preparing for such an examination is to build a suitable timetable.

Build the timetable in such a way that you get to revise everything at least thrice before the exam.

Time is money in these examinations. If you invest your time precisely then the rate of your success increases eventually.

2. Revise, Revise and Revise

Keep on revising and practicing, try to get a better grip on subjects that you find least interesting.

Study everything in your way, but in a smart manner. Make summaries on each topic up to a page. Try to cover the entire topic within a page to keep handy and ready to use whenever needed.

3. Focus

Without focus, there is no point in appearing for the exam. Get focused on studies and try not to get distracted by flaws around you.

Focus on the fundamental concepts. Try to analyze things working around you like recent events in the country and all.

Without knowing the basics you cannot hope to gain further knowledge, it is really of no use. Complete all the fundamentals before taking a step further.

Making notes not only helps in remembering stuff it also helps in keeping things in a proper sequence. Most importantly it makes you a little responsible and motivated to work hard.

Making notes is a good initiative in exam times. It helps to keep a check on the syllabus covered till now and also to build up confidence. This is one of the most important UPSC exam Preparation Tips.

5. Update your version

Keep updating yourself with the news and events occurring in the country and a check on international events. This tip helps in building a foundation for your preparations.

Keep a proper check on the news from the very own city you reside in. This is the most important part from the interview point of view.

6. Reading Newspaper

Develop a hobby of reading the newspaper daily. It will help you to gain day-to-day knowledge and will also help you with the point above. Try to read at least one paper and keeping notes of it somewhere. The most preferred ones by the selected candidates are The Hindu and The Indian Express.

But that doesn’t mean you devote 4-5 hours to reading the newspaper only.

7. Previous year’s question paper

Previous years’ question papers are of great importance in building a strategy for the examination. These papers tell about what examiners are asking most frequently over the past few years.

This is super important to solve the previous years’ question papers well in advance. This is again of the most important UPSC Preparation Tips.

Toppers Tips For UPSC Preparation

These tips which I’m giving can also be used by working professionals but the main thing they need to focus on is time management.

If we see toppers have got their way of practicing which made them crack the paper so easy.

The main tip that toppers focus on is TIME that is to be utilized in studying.

Don’t run after time, try to do quality study in a given period. This is the basic topper tip that is given by almost every topper around.

Or else you can study for around 16 to 17 hours a day. This is not suitable for anyone. Time management is the key to their success after all.

Some UPSC Preparation Tips will help you in your preparation. Many IAS coaching institutes are available to guide you in the exam, but I will highly recommend The Thought Tree as they provide free mentorship to their students.
